Vossloh wins major contract in Turkey for the supply of rail components 21 December 2021

Vossloh, a long established and world supplier of rail infrastructure products and services, has been awarded an economically significant order for 147 turnouts of different geometries plus spares and additional track materials.

The customer is the Kalyon Group, a leading Turkish construction company for infrastructure projects. The project will connect the cities of Bandirma, Bursa and Osmaneli in the northwest of Turkey. The plan is to build a double track high speed line which will enable speeds of up to 250km/h and substantially shorten travel times for people and goods. Deliveries of Vossloh products are scheduled to take about four years, starting in 2022.

"We are honoured to contribute to the success of this important project with our leading technology and our vast global experience. Especially for high speed lines, the highest product quality and the perfect interaction of the individual track components are crucial. For this reason, I am particularly pleased that the Kalyon Group has placed its trust in Vossloh. The order once again impressively underlines our international competitiveness and strong position, in particular in the important Turkish market," says Oliver Schuster, CEO of Vossloh AG.

Turkey intends to carry out further large-scale infrastructure projects in the coming years. The expansion of the rail network, and in particular the high speed network, is a key priority. Several projects have already been put out to tender and others are currently in the planning phase. In recent years, Vossloh has already equipped several high speed lines in Turkey with rail fastening and switch systems, including the Ankara-Konya high speed line.
