tesa, an international manufacturer of adhesive tapes and self-adhesive product solutions, has received Gold status from EcoVadis. The company states it achieved these results with its extensive sustainability initiatives, particularly in the areas of environment and energy, sustainable supply chains, working conditions and ethics.
The EcoVadis platform is an independent assessment system for companies that measures sustainability performance and sheds light on various aspects such as environmental management, labour practices and human rights, responsible procurement, and ethics. The result is recorded in a scorecard with points that enables the respective company to document its sustainability measures.
Sustainability is part of tesa's corporate strategy. Thereby, the company states it pursues a science-based approach. Worldwide, more than 600 scientists, engineers, and product developers are working with tesa to set up innovative sustainable products and processes.
"Sustainability has been one of our most important strategic goals for several years now. That's why we are pleased to have been awarded EcoVadis Gold status," says Dr. Norman Goldberg, CEO of tesa SE. "Achieving greater sustainability based on scientific findings and innovative solutions is an important guiding principle for tesa. A rating from EcoVadis underscores that we are on the right track with our strategy, but still need to keep working to tackle the defined goals of our sustainability agenda.”
