There is currently no vaccination or medication against the Coronavirus. Therefore, one precautionary measure is particularly useful - keep your distance. In many areas, floor markings may serve as a helpful tool, which is why tesa has donated over 100km of warning tapes to Corona clinics.
"We are aware that in particularly sensitive areas, such as hospitals, so called social distancing tapes that are quick and easy to stick to the floor are urgently needed; thus, we will donate them to all major clinics in Germany," says Dr. Norman Goldberg, CEO of tesa SE. The first beneficiaries include the university clinics in Hamburg (UKE), Berlin (Charité), Gießen, Marburg, and Cologne as well as the Klinikum rechts der Isar of the TU Munich.
In a delivery to around 30 hospitals, the international adhesive tape group donated 3,000 rolls with a total length of 100kmin three different colour varieties: yellow, red, and black-yellow.
"Just six weeks ago, I would not have thought it possible that our tesa warning tapes would be given such a high priority in public life. I’m all the more pleased that we can offer a little support for hospitals where doctors and nurses are presently doing a great job,” explains Goldberg.
The eye catching 'spacers' come from the tesa plant in Offenburg and the plant in Concagno in northern Italy – a region that has been extremely affected by the spread of the Coronavirus.
The donation of warning adhesive tapes is related to a large aid program that the Beiersdorf Group, to which tesa belongs, recently started. At the end of March, Beiersdorf announced an international emergency program worth €50 million to support the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. Among other things, the company produces 1,000,000 litres of disinfectant on five continents for central public institutions and emergency services around the world. tesa also intends to equip several hospitals with social distancing tapes at many more of its 56 company locations.
