Whether they are used in assembly, goods handling or logistics – the new threaded lifting pins with handle from Erwin Halder KG are an ideal choice for transporting light and medium loads from A to B and positioning them with ease and speed.
Everyday work often requires that components, workpieces, fixtures and containers be transported, lifted or simply moved aside. To keep things simple, or because there is no other lifting device handy, the parts are often moved by manual force. In situations such as these, a safe and reliable lifting aid is of crucial importance – especially if the parts are cumbersome, not suitable for permanently fitted handles or possibly hot because they come out of the kiln. However, ordinary load-handling devices such as eye bolts often require laborious installation and removal. These devices thus hinder a fast and efficient work flow. If the component to be carried already comes with a threaded hole, the new threaded lifting pins with handle made by Erwin Halder KG offer a solution.
“Many load-handling devices require that you incorporate separate locating holes into a component. However, this is not feasible in many cases. Since using threads that are already present, our threaded lifting pins simplify the process considerably. The ergonomic handle of the new version in concert with its easy handling makes the task of lifting workpieces, fixtures, and containers a cinch. Unwieldy and larger items can be transported by several people with the help of two or more threaded lifting pins”, explains Bernd Janner, sales manager at Erwin Halder KG.
These new threaded lifting pins feature self-locking threaded segments at the bottom of the high strength pin, which are matched to the corresponding thread sizes. Instead of a shackle, intended for a crane hook, the new version is equipped with a blue anodised aluminium handle, allowing for operation by hand. Releasing the threaded segments merely requires a press on the – orange anodised – aluminium button embedded in the handle. The pin can then be easily inserted into the existing threaded hole. When the press button is released, the segments engage in the thread of the part to be carried. For a firm and secure seat in the bore hole, the lifting element requires approximately half a turn at the end. All the user has to do to release the pin is to open it up again with a slight turn before actuating the press button.
Boasting a certified lifting capacity of 500N, the threaded lifting pins with handle are available in thread sizes M8, M10 and M12 with function lengths of 12 mm, 14 mm and 17 mm. The high strength pin and the threaded segments are made of precipitation-hardened stainless steel, while the interior spring is made from stainless steel. This selection of materials makes this version and the other threaded lifting pins resistant to both corrosion and weather conditions and, thus, ideally suited for outdoor use.
