The versatile metal bellows couplings series, the KG-VA, KGH and KGE, from JAKOB Antriebstechnik have recently been expanded. Previously available in two and four corrugated versions, the product families have been expanded to now include six corrugated versions.
This addition means allows for a wider range of applications, longer shaft distances can be bridged and larger offsets can be compensated for. In addition to these series, the company also offers many other standard series or custom-made products.
KG-VA series
The KG-VA series, manufactured from stainless steel, meets high requirements. The couplings are available in torque ranges spanning 30Nm – 1,000Nm and shaft diameters from 10mm – 90mm. These couplings are also suitable for harsher climates, as they can be used in temperature ranges from -40°C to +350°C.
The bellows and hub are connected using a micro-plasma welding process, which results in design advantages such as reduced overall length and reproducible quality of secure and permanent connections between metal bellows and stainless steel or steel hubs.
KG-VA couplings are qualified for transport, packaging and filling systems in the food industry. But stainless steel bellows couplings, thanks to their added resistance to corrosion, are also preferred for installation in metallurgical engineering, the galvanic industry, in the vacuum sector or in satellite technology equipment.
KGE series
With the compact KGE metal bellows coupling, a tailor-made solution was developed for all gearboxes with a drive flange. This system unit is particularly impressive due to its shorter design with maximum use of rigidity of the transmission that provides the user with both a compact machine design and extremely short positioning times. As with the KG-VA series, the micro-plasma welding process is also used during implementation. The couplings are available in torque ranges from 40Nm – 2,000Nm and shaft diameters from 12mm – 90mm, with a temperature range from -40°C to +300°C.
KGH series
The KGH metal bellows coupling is manufactured in the easy-to-install half-shell hub design. Assembling and dismantling the coupling is made simple, even in tight installation spaces. The fixed hub halves are placed on the shaft and screwed to the loose half-shell pieces. KGH is wear-free and maintenance-free, can be used up to 350°C and includes shaft diameters from 8mm – 85mm and torque ranges from 20Nm – 1,800Nm. Additionally, the stainless steel variant of KGH-VA is also ideal for use in the food sector and medical technology.
