Samac Fixings has announced the launch of its TEK Screw range, engineered for a wide range of applications where materials such as wood and metal need to be screwed together – without the need for pre-drilling.
TEK screws feature a self-tapping thread, allowing them to cut their own thread into the material they are fastening, along with a drilling point. This dual functionality offers a quick and effective way to join two materials seamlessly. Each screw is treated with an advanced 1,500 hour Ruspert® Coating, providing outstanding resistance to corrosion and ensuring these fasteners stand up to extreme environments.
The range includes the Hex Head Self Drilling Screw with two options for light and heavy section steel to steel fixing. The screw for light section steel features a TEK 3 drill point while the screw for heavy section features a TEK 5 drill point that eliminates the time and effort needed for pre-drilling.
The Hex Head Self Drilling Screw, designed for sheet to timber applications, maximises thread engagement with timber for a secure, reliable hold. This screw is designed specifically to pierce through sheet metal to anchor it tightly to timber frameworks, providing a versatile solution for steel-to-material applications.
The Countersunk Self Drilling Screw with Wings reliably joins timber to light or heavy section steel. Its unique wings carve out cavities in the timber, preserving structural integrity even while the timber expands and contracts. When the screw reaches steel, the wings snap off so the screw thread can engage with the material. Completing the range is the Hex Head Self Drilling Stitching Screw, made for sheet to sheet applications.
The Samac Fixing’s TEK Screw range is expanding and now features a wide array of sizes, available in packs of 100.
