Meeting demand for style, strength, and versatility 09 July 2025

Spectre, a leading brand of advanced multi-purpose screws (MPS) from fastener and fixings supplier ForgeFix, has launched a range of new products in a versatile and coveted black finish, with improved technical specifications and enhanced sizing options. The extended range offers exceptional quality, value and flexibility across a wide range of uses.

There is growing demand for versatile anti-corrosion products to be finished in black as this can help blend the screws into their environments making the product more aesthetically appealing. The surge in consumer demand for black finishes in bathrooms and kitchens, as well the trend for darker cabinetry, makes the Spectre Black MPS the ideal fixing solution for a variety of these outputs. The corrosion resistant coating also enables its use in wet environments.

Designed for use in varied and often challenging environments, the new Spectre Black MPS range benefits from numerous product upgrades, including an anti-corrosion coating, a reamer to prevent jacking, and sawtooths to prevent substrate splitting during application. These fasteners are fully threaded up to 50mm, are surface hardened and offer synthetic lubrication. Black MPS is also available in counter-sunk pozidrive compatible recessed, or pan-head for extra clamping and load distribution. A CE Marking approves Black MPS for use in load-bearing timber construction.

In addition to the enhanced technical specifications of these fixings, the products’ sizing has also been increased, now available with a gauge range of 3.5mm – 5mm and lengths of 16mm – 50mm, to again add greater flexibility and range for the end user.

Commenting on the release of Spectre Black MPS, Paul Swift, managing director at ForgeFix, explained: “So much of what we do is driven by a desire to be a one stop shop to our valued customers. By introducing this new Spectre range of high-quality multi-purpose screws in a black finish along with such a broad size range, we are giving customers in builders’ merchants, plumbing trade shops and DIY stores another reason to let ForgeFix solve all their product needs.”
