With French car sales up 27.7% in December and technology shifting, leading manufacturers are signing up to Fastener Fair France at Paris Expo-Porte de Versailles on 27th – 28th May 2020 to capitalise on the country’s key position in the sector.
“The French market is one of our biggest in terms of turnover, with many industrial customers, especially in the automotive business. We have introduced the new automotive quality management system standard IATF16949:2016 and want to increase business in that segment. We were very satisfied with results at the last show two years ago, as it gave us a chance to contact existing customers and meet new ones,” said Salvador Rodriguez from S.A. Sinard, a Spanish manufacturer specialising in metal stamping solutions.
Exhibitors also include French market leaders Gardette Group and Acton, as well as Dytsa and Fastener S.L, a group of six Spanish manufacturers of standard and special fasteners for the automotive, rail and construction industries. German manufacturer Graewe GmbH & Co will showcase its fastener range for the automotive, engineering and agricultural industries, ready to meet global players like Renault, LISI automotive who all attended the show in 2018. Schäfers & Peters France, GESIPA, NOF Metal Coatings , BAFA S.A. and Bralo France will be there too.
The estimated 27.7% surge in passenger car sales was published by the European Automobile Manufacturers Association that also said total French sales were up 1.9% in France in 2019 on 2018 levels, and by 1.2% in the EU. Sales of commercial vehicles rose 4.3% in France in 2019, compared to the previous year, and by 2.5% in the EU, the Association claims.
Despite fears of a slowdown, Fitch Solutions estimates French car sales to climb again by 1.5% in 2020. This is driven by the move towards low emission vehicles, elevated demand for an updated range of best-selling models by national carmakers like Renault and government’s fiscal stimulus to boost consumer spending.
The fast changing trends, together with a positive market outlook for the automotive, aerospace and construction industries, are fuelling French fastener demand, forecast to increase 3% annually from 2020 to 2025, to reach $2.8 billion, a study on industrial fasteners by the Freedonia Group shows.
France is the second largest market for industrial fasteners in Europe after Germany and a net importer, sourcing supplies from Germany, Italy, Taiwan, Spain, the UK and China. The automotive sector is also France’s second biggest industrial sector, after aerospace, both predicted to grow steadily until 2025.
