Hose clamps for farming machinery 15 March 2017

According to JCS, one of the many industries where its hose clamps are used is the agricultural sector - equipment such a crop-sprayers, slurry-spreaders and seed drills make use of high-performance hose clamps during operation.

Tractor-mounted crop sprayers feature a series of hoses secured to a boom arm by hose clamps. Likewise, some designs of slurry spreaders include a run of hoses fixed to a main hose from a tank – hose clamps are used to secure these hoses in place.

Seed drills feed seeds into a large hopper before being channelled down to the ground through a succession of hoses – all attached with hose clamps.

Larger hi-torque clamps are used to secure hoses running between storage tankers. Liquid fertilisers, pesticides and other liquids used for agricultural purposes are often pumped at pressure and the performance of the hose clamps is an important factor in helping to reduce incidents.

JCS says many of its customers in the agricultural sector use it’s hi-torque stainless steel clamps as they are ideally suited for holding up against corrosive substances like slurry and perform well in wet weather conditions.
