Harrison Silverdale invests in prototyping capabilities 25 January 2021

Harrison Silverdale Ltd, a UK-based supplier of specialised fasteners, has invested in its R&D capabilities by purchasing a 5 axis CNC machine, to be used for producing prototype samples for design validation on new projects.

The company regularly collaborates with customers design teams through the development of special parts providing CAD and 3D printing services. Mark Harrison, managing director, commented: “Now we can take our rapid prototyping services a stage closer to serial production by moving from 3D prints to metal parts allowing us to test and validate our designs in a short space of time.”

The machine is capable of producing parts in brass, aluminium and steel, by using Fusion 360 CAM software.
