Bringing mature lightweight solutions to the forecourt 01 March 2016

The 5th annual GALM Europe 2016 edition will be held in Birmingham, UK, on 26th April – 28th April, with an extended three day format and a completely revamped agenda.

Supported by Audi, Jaguar Land Rover, Lamborghini, Bentley, Tata Motors and other leading OEMs, the conference brings back its legacy of the most up-to-date practical case studies, and present innovative weight and cost reduction solutions for the European automotive industry.

What's New For GALM 2016?

- A renewed focus on mature solutions will enable OEMs to identify the technologies and processes that are ready to be implemented into their assembly lines focusing on procurement, costs, lifecycle time and manufacturability.

- Brand new speakers to the series will deliver fresh success stories from OEMs such as Audi, Lamborghini, Jaguar Land Rover, Great Wall Motor China, Geely, and Bentley.

- The return of the successful body-in-white exhibition will include more models and a bigger space, allowing the participants to network while physically testing the latest breakthroughs in automotive lightweighting.

- For the first time the agenda will include case studies from Chinese OEMs, including Geely and Great Wall Motor, who will share updates on developments within the Asian automotive industry.

The agenda for the fifth edition has been completely reinvented to bring the latest knowledge to the scrutiny of a keen automotive audience. For the first time the programme has been extended to include three full days, with OEM presentations looking to assess performance, weight, cost, durability and maintainability of aluminium, high strength steel, composites and other lightweight materials.

More than 25 presentations over three days will look at minimising the procurement, technology and engineering costs for lightweight materials with a focus on mature solutions.
