The patented KAPTI NUT® from Böllhoff Group has recently been renamed to KAPTI® to make way for a product family of various functional elements, including the KAPTI® rivet nut – specially developed for the creation of screw joints in sheet metal components.
During the mechanical setting process, the new rivet nut is permanently inserted into thin steel or aluminium sheets in thicknesses of 0.7mm – 2.5mm, enabling a loss-proof solution. As well as this, they install flush with sheet metal for a sleek finish and offer high corrosion resistance as per customer requirements.
Available in sizes M5, M6, M8 and M10 in Class 8, the KAPTI® rivet nuts are suitable for press integrated and C-frame manufacturing processes, as multiple fasteners can be inserted simultaneously into the component during a single operation. This means users benefit from a high economic efficiency. Mechanical attachment of the rivet nut also eliminates the need for an exhaust system and removes the potential for thermal distortion in the components.
