Henkel’s range of LOCTITE® products has been awarded new approvals, including WRAS and DVGW. These approvals are what makes the LOCTITE® range suitable for plumbing applications, as well as drinking water applications.
For drinking water applications, protection against corrosion over a system's lifetime is key to avoiding contamination. Therefore, the LOCTITE® range now includes WRAS approved thread lockers. These products have cure chemistry which optimises the performance of anti-corrosion, zinc-flake coated fasteners as well as passive substrates, such as stainless steel and zinc dichromate. LOCTITE® 2400 and 2700 thread locking adhesives also possess WRAS approval and can lock and seal brass fittings in drinking water applications.
The range of LOCTITE® adhesives include LOCTITE® 55, a sealing cord which produces a pressure tight joint that can be re-aligned without re-applying the cord. Also, LOCTITE® 5400 is a pipe sealant which locks and seals metal pipe threads. It can be used on various threads and can seal olives on compression joints. The 5400 also carries a hazard free label. Both adhesives are WRAS compliant for potable water and additionally have DVGW approval for gas and compressed air.
