New Norm plant boosts output 20 March 2014

Turkey’s largest fastener producer, Norm Group, has commenced production at its sixth factory, located in Salihli in Manisa province, boosting its total capacity by more than 30%.

The new plant, which is approximately 120km east of Izmir where Norm’s other five plants are located, has 12,000m2 covered production space. Employing 160 people it will have a bolt production capacity, on all new machines, of 20,000 tonnes annually.

In 2013, the company’s fortieth year in business, Norm Group produced 58,000 tonnes, exporting around 40% of its output. The new plant will boost annual capacity to 80,000 tonnes. Following the commissioning of the new plant, Norm Civata in Izmir will concentrate more on special products, secondary operations and R&D. Norm is a licencee for MAThread®, MATpoint® and M Point® products.

Another Group company, Uysal Makine, specialises in the application of advanced coating technologies including zinc and zinc-nickel electroplating. It holds MacDermid Zinklad 250, Zinklad 1000/1000B licenses and Zinc lamelle coatings, as well as Dörken MKS and Magni licenses.
