New extension ratchet removes the parts other tools cannot reach 29 November 2019

Laser Tools says it has now solved another problem - a fastener buried deep in the engine bay. It may be a pulley securing nut, a water pump mounting bolt or an A/C compressor adjustor. A user may just be able to get a spanner on, but there’s definitely no room for a ratchet handle to remove the fastener quickly.

Therefore, users can reach for this new extension ratchet (part number 7655) from Laser Tools. It’s 340mm long and enables users to remotely ratchet off the fastener, using either a 3/8 inch or ¼ inch drive ratchet handle.

Its length and super-slim profile means room isn’t needed to move the extension ratchet - it stays still while a user attaches a ratchet handle to the free end and spins off the fastener. Inside is a smooth and durable chain that transmits the drive from the ratchet handle straight down to the fastener. A maximum torque of 130Nm can be applied using the 3/8 inch drive.

The extension racket has a 3/8 inch drive at one end and ¼ inch drive at the other. Use whatever combination or ratchet handle and socket size that works best. Each drive has an easily removable adaptor to take a socket or bit driver. Remove the adaptor to attach the ratchet handle, pop the adaptor back in to take a socket or bit driver.
