Tools for electric vehicles 02 July 2021

In addition to the special qualification of the staff, another factor has top priority when working on electric and hybrid vehicles – the correct choice of insulated certified tools.

Automotive repair workshops often have to acquire completely new equipment for this purpose and think carefully about what is required. Hand tool manufacturer and tool set provider Wiha offers the right solutions - a XL tool case and eMobility workshop trolley. Similarly, the tool case solution can also be used on the go for the installation of charging stations.

When working on e-vehicles it is vitally important that insulated tools provide users with 100% reliable protection. Wiha guarantees this trust in its products with over 40 years of experience in the development and manufacture of insulated VDE tools. Based on the special applications, requirements, and needs of automotive repair workshop employees, the manufacturer developed two different tool set solutions with different scopes. All tools contained in each set are VDE certified, have protective insulation and have been individually tested at 10,000V AC and approved for 1,000V AC.

Distributed over five drawers, the entire equipment of the workshop trolley is protected and clearly arranged in precisely fitting foam inserts. Thanks to the fully extendable drawers, the tools are always easily accessible and can be used quickly. Additional storage space and the integrated 4-way power socket allow the trolley to be expanded individually with electrical appliances. Thanks to its roller runners, the workshop trolley is very mobile and can conveniently transport up to 150 kg of contents within the workshop.

At the same time, the locks on the roller runners guarantee absolute stability and steadiness, which means that the trolley can also be used as a stable work bench or storage shelf. The highlights of its contents include the speedE® electric e-screwdriver, insulated torque tools, nut driver inserts, screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, a multifunctional flashlight with LED, laser, and ultraviolet light function, and much more. From voltage testers to torque keys, from protective gloves to warning signs: with the fully equipped workshop trolley, users always have the right Wiha tool available, while being fully protected.

Regardless of whether it is to be used stationary in the automotive repair workshop or on the go, the robust tool case XL eMobility offers professional users many advantages. The tool inserts have been designed with an eye to efficient operation so that all tools can be removed quickly and easily. The contents of the case can be secured against theft with padlocks on the integrated eyelets. Additional storage space is provided by extra space in the bottom tray of the case.

In addition, the ergonomic two component handle guarantees a comfortable carrying experience. The robust case is equipped with gas pressure shock absorbers which prevent uncontrolled closing of the lid and thus prevent injuries to the user. In addition to an insulated torque tool set, nut driver inserts, screwdrivers and pliers, it contains, similar to the workshop trolley, a full set of equipment that includes a voltage tester, protective gloves and even a warning sign.
